I visited my brother and his family in Dallas, TX. Spent quiet family time with them. I treated my niece, Ali, to a manicure while I got the works. A spa pedi & manicure. The woman who worked on me was Vietnamese. I learned that she came to US for better opportunities. She married the man who sponsored her. “T” is her American name. She knew no English and learned how to speak it by listening to her customers, radio & TV. She speaks quite well. Can’t read or write English though. I was reflecting on how hard that is and how I would handle going to a foreign country without any knowledge of their language. “T” wanted to quit, but her husband encouraged her to hang in there and she’s glad she did!
After spending time with my brother’s family, I was off to Mary Kay Seminar in downtown Dallas. It was awesome as usual. This time, we stayed in a new hotel called the ALOFT. We could walk to the convention center. What a difference that made from my previous trips. Much more relaxing. And the ALOFT was such a unique hotel – check it out on line. A fun place with unusual décor.
Mary Kay company is so generous to their sales force. I could go on and on! I did receive the Fall/Holiday products, which are hot hot hot. Can’t wait to show my customers. I especially love our baked radiant cheek powder. As always, I get inspired and learn so much. I would like to share one quote that stayed with me:
“Let the possibilities command your future, not the obstacles you surrender to.”
Love it!
On another note, many of you know that my computer was in the "hospital". Well, I finally got it back, but I lost all of my email contacts! Please help! Email me or Facebook me today with your email address. You have my many thanks in advance!
Have a great weekend out there!
